Leila Danziger

Nació en Rio de Janeiro, donde vive y trabaja. Es artista, profesora del Instituto de Artes de la Universidad del Estado de Rio de Janeiro, investigadora y poeta. Uno de los vectores de su trabajo es la investigación de la página impresa (diario, libro, documento histórico), volviéndose para las fricciones entre la pequeña y la gran historia, entre la memoria familiar y las construcciones de las memorias colectivas. Sus trabajos se desenvuelven en diferentes medios (técnicas de impresión y de borramiento, fotografía, pintura, vídeo, instalación y escrita). Entre sus proyectos principales, figuran ‘Diários públicos”, serie en proceso realizada a partir del borramiento de diarios impresos, y “Navio de emigrantes”, que homenajea a Lasar Segall y conecta el Atlántico y el Mediterráneo, la crisis de refugiados de la Segunda Gran Guerra y la crisis actual. Entre sus exposiciones individuales recientes están Descer da nuvem, en el Museu Judaico, de São Paulo; Navio de emigrantes, en la Caixa Cultural de Brasília (2018); Ao sul do futuro, en el Museu Lasar Segall, São Paulo (2018). Entre las exposiciones colectivas, se destacan 22a. Relicário, 2021) y Um golem para Caruaru (Ed. IART/UERJ, 2014).

She was born in Rio de Janeiro, where she lives and works. She is an artist, professor at the Institute of Arts of the State University of Rio de Janeiro, researcher and poet. One of the vectors of her work is the investigation of the printed page (diary, book, historical document), turning to the frictions between small and big history, between family memory and the constructions of collective memories. Her works are developed in different media (printing and erasing techniques, photography, painting, video, installation and writing). Among his main projects are 'Diários Públicos', a series in progress made from the deletion of printed newspapers, and 'Navio de emigrantes', which pays tribute to Lasar Segall and connects the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, the refugee crisis of the Second Great War and the current crisis. Among her recent solo exhibitions are Descer da nuvem, at the Museu Judaico, São Paulo; Navio de emigrantes, at the Caixa Cultural de Brasília (2018); Ao sul do futuro, at the Lasar Segall Museum, São Paulo (2018).
